PHOENIX Wound Matrix® is an engineered synthetic matrix comprised of known polymers, Polyglycolic Acid (PGA) and Poly-lactide-co-caprolactone (PLCL), each with a long & safe history in numerous medical applications. The polymers are electrospun into nanofibers designed to serve as a scaffold that mimics the body’s native Extracellular Matrix in an efficient, consistent and scalable manner. The polymers fully resorb over 7–14 days, releasing glycolic acid, caproic acid and lactic acid, each of which are recognized contributors that transform pH levels, modulate inflammation and fuel cellular activity.
PHOENIX Wound Matrix® is indicated as a 510k medical device for use in the management of all full and partial thickness wounds, including but not limited to diabetic ulcers, venous ulcers, pressure ulcers, surgical wounds, and traumatic wounds. The matrix is designed for ease of application, can be trimmed to fit the wound bed as needed, and is available in multiple sizes to accommodate a range of wound types and clinical preferences.
